The Week of Little Sleep

Last week I didn't talk to anyone I didn't work with other than my baby niece (who is now nine years old...how crazy is that?). I wasn't on a let's be exclusive kind of kick and no one except Alissa was out of town. We had this little thing called install week.

You may remember me posting about working at the warehouse a couple of months ago. Every year my church changes out the entire children's wing of the building. About a month before install, we take everything down. It's weird to see the bare walls....then we spend one week putting up all of the new decorations.

Now you may be thinking, 'my church does this for vbs or we do this periodically also...big whoop'. Please let me clarify: we make new walls. We go HUGE....gigantic...it's something like you've never seen before.

Our current theme is "FC KIDS Studios" so one hallway is decorated with a red carpet, cut out papparazzi, and palm trees; one hallway looks like a backlot; one hallway has movie posters with working light boxes. Each room front is decorated to look like a movie theater: drive in, majestic, and Chinese. It's incredible!

Last week my shortest day was maybe thirteen hours. Each day I stayed progressively later. Friday night I went to bed at 5am at the church. Good times....

So that was last week.

Yesterday I slept until 11, got ready, had lunch with Lindsey & her mom, hit up Sam's, and then was disappointed with the bachelorette.

Today I woke up at 5:15 so Alissa & I could be running by 5:30. I decided to listen to music today while running & I could tell an improvement. Don't get me wrong, I'm still horrible at pacing myself but when I wanted to stop, OK Go would urge me on...or TobyMac would yell at me. I think I'm going to listen to my ultra running mix every morning. For cool down I had "Fancy" by Reba McEntire.

Ahhhh now it's time for a shower & then it's off to work.

As soon as my ability to spell and formulate sentences return, I will have a LONG update!

Install week....whoa.
