One Week

In one short week, our conference takes place! Can you believe it? One week? One week & I get to teach a breakout session (twice!), make sure my lovely lunches are perfectly in place, oversee that the table decorations look as charming as can be, ensure that everything is set up to allow the best possible conference...and meet a ton of new people!

For those of you who don't know c3 Kids is April 23/24. I am so humbled that I get to be a part of something this incredible. I get to share with other people how God uses me at my job. I get to show how God has given me abilities/talents that aren't being squandered...I actually have a job that challenges me to be sharpened. I am blessed to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ with k-5 graders every week. I get to share the TRUTH & help them work through questions like, 'is Pilate good or bad?'

I am so amazed...excitement builds daily as preparations continue. People from around the country (and from other countries) are coming here. It's like having company over in a brand new house--you want to show them everything & answer any questions they might have.

Never in my life did I think I would have this opportunity. NEVER. I love that you can't outdream God. Funny how God changes our desires...Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

This conference is going to be PHENOMENAL---it's not too late to register!!!

This Weekend!

bath

Last night I decided to take a nice, long bubble bath. After all with Easter this weekend, our conference a mere two weeks away, and the ladies conference the following week, I've got a lot on my plate right now.

So I get out the bubble bath my mom bought me at Christmas. I open the lid & sniff it....oh how beautiful! I think to myself this is just what I need! I pour in quite a bit of the bubble bath (the bubblier the better, right?). I watch as the tub begins to fill with the water and I decide to go ahead and hop in...ahhhh yes this is the life!

I have Marc Broussard singing me relaxing songs in his lovely southern voice...and I think the only thing to make this better is to make it last longer. As I can't stand being in a cold tub, I increase the hot water...

Well, I'm sure you've all heard about the frog & the pot. If you put a frog is boiling water, it will jump out. If you put it in temperate water and then slowly increase the heat, the frog won't realize it. After about ten minutes or so I realized it.

I got so light headed. I hopped out of the tub & took a break from my 'relaxing' bath. I get back in and realize just how incredibly hot I had made my bath.

I now have a fear of one day burning my baby in the bathtub. No joke. I think my husband will always have to run the baby's bath so that I don't horrifically burn and scar our baby. I'm sure this fear will subside by the time I'm married and thinking about having children. Then again as I have no idea when Chris will ask that life changing question, the fear could still be very real.

Speaking of that stone cold fox (that's what i've been calling him all week), he'll be in for Easter weekend in just 8 short hours! Yep, only eight more hours until I get a lovely three day weekend with him! AND I get to spend Easter with his family!!!

talented guy

My handsome, talented boyfriend made this fake infomercial. As I have been known to watch an infomercial or two, I was particularly impressed. Enjoy!

sunburned

I currently have the oddest sunburn of possibly all time. Just my calves, deltoids, and triceps are burned. Everywhere else is totally fine.

I don't have prominent, huge, amazing muscles. I keep running it over in my head how I could have just been burned there...I mean really, this is just weird. Any theories are welcomed.

Caterer!

I met with a caterer just a moment or two ago. Yes, it was work related (Kenneth thought I had neglected to tell him something very important...Chris is his bff so you should have seen his face). We're having a conference April 23-24 (seriously you should check this out!). I am so thankful for what all I get to do in the preliminary phases. One of those responsibilities is planning lunches for the two days.

Now if you just stumbled across this and have no idea as to who I am as a person, you may not realize just how big of a deal this truly is. I LOVE doing stuff like this. Let me plan a party. Let me cook dinner for you! I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

I told the caterer we wanted to do something original...no soggy sandwiches on my watch thank you very much! We discussed the idea of a lunchable. Yes a lunchable. You can't tell me as a child you didn't BEG/PLEAD with your mom to have one. I was only allowed to have one if I were going on a field trip. I love them and don't deny that you do too.

Today she brought me a sample. Picture a lunchable tray (totally reusable, microwave and oven safe!) with three solid, thick pieces of honey roasted turkey, five different cheeses (oh so fancy!), fresh strawberries and grapes, a white chocolate mint, and a croissant. How hungry are you? Not only is it adorable but it's delectable!

I am floating on cloud nine...ready to show off this creatively yummy lunch to anyone who will see it. The guys that see it tell me that it just wouldn't be enough food. WHAT?!? I have a few more hours to think about this. I don't want anyone going hungry on my watch. So we'll see....but seriously, you guys, this is the cutest idea.

Can't our conference be creative with throws of cute in it?

A Vlog...

Be Good...Update

Thankfully David asked for ways to prank his wife. I gave him a genius idea thus allowing me to channel some of my deviousness.

Only two more hours or so to make it without pranking anyone in the office...

I think I can...I think I can...I think I can.

Be Good...Must Be Good

From time to time, I've been known to be mischievous...just a bit. It's interesting to me that people who barely even know me or just met me seem to think I would like to be mischievous. Today is the day that mischief reigns...it's April Fool's Day Baby!!!

I want so bad to pull a prank on one of the guys I work with. Words can't describe just how much I want to pull a prank...on Preston. Yes I want to prank Preston so badly that every time I see him today my mind immediately starts to run through situations in which I could yell, 'hahaha April Fools!'

But I'm 26...I have a job I love...I shouldn't be so tempted to do this. I keep telling myself, "Be Good...Must be good..." Will I be able to make it through the day? Thankfully I'll be out of the office in about an hour or so for a lunch appointment with a volunteer then he'll be in meetings the rest of the afternoon. If I can restrain myself from pranking him all day, I will give myself a treat. Yes, I've sunken to bribery to get through this day.

If you do any pranks today, please let me know so I can live vicariously through you.
